The new BelJ plant will begin serial production of cars in August, First Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Gennady Svidersky told reporters, BelTA.
"In August, we plan to test the plant for the production of cars: in a full technological cycle, 222 cars will pass, they will be produced continuously," said Gennady Svidersky. "In August, we will proceed to the stage of mass production and export of cars."
The experimental car lot was assembled in full technological cycle in June. Gennady Svidersky stressed that the equipment showed itself to be effective and meeting the requirements of the technical task. The model range is targeted at different price segments.
As reported, the design capacity of the new plant near Borisov at the first stage will be 60 thousand cars a year. At the existing plant, production of the crossover Geely Emgrand X7, sedan Geely SC7 and hatchback Geely LC Cross.
