Belarus Open Helicopter Championship, the WHC2018 test event, will be held in Borovaya airfield on 25-30 July, BelTA learned from head of the press service of DOSAAF (Volunteer Society of Assistance of Army, Aircraft and Fleet) Andrei Drob.
Taking part in the 2018 World Helicopter Championships dress rehearsal will be about 25 crews from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Germany, and Poland. “Belarusian helicopter pilots almost always make it into the top three at international competitions. This test event will be a rehearsal for the pilots. In a year the Minsk airfield will host the World Helicopter Championships and gather participants from 15 countries,” said Andrei Drob.
Pilots will compete in Freight Handling, Parallel Slalom and Navigation competitions.
The 3rd FAI World Helicopter Championships were hosted by the Vitebsk flying club in 1978.
