According to the source, for a long time Belorusneft has had nothing to do with oil extraction projects in Iran, which contradict the U.S. law on sanctions against Iran. The decision of the American side also corresponds to the new atmosphere in Belarusian-American relations that is formed by mutual efforts of the sides, noted the Press Secretary.
The removal of U.S. sanctions against Belorusneft is stipulated by the relevant document published by the federal registry the day before. The sanctions were enforced on 29 March 2011.
