“The spring sowing campaign was launched in four regions: Brest Oblast, Gomel Oblast, Grodno Oblast and Minsk Oblast two weeks earlier than in 2018,” Vasily Yadlovsky said.
As of 25 March, some 104.400 hectares, or 11.8% of the plan, were planted with cereal and leguminous crops (with the exception of corn, buckwheat and millet). The sowing is underway in all the oblasts except for Vitebsk Oblast. Some 44.5% of areas have been sown in Brest Oblast, 22.8% in Gomel Oblast, 9.15% in Grodno Oblast, 5.24% in Minsk Oblast and 0.81% in Mogilev Oblast.
An estimated 884,400 hectares have been allocated for early cereal and leguminous crops in the country this year.
